The Shram Sadhana Amravati’s is the premier organisation in Maharashtra which founded “ Krishi Vigyan Kendra” in July, 1996 with a view to spread agricultural education among the small farmers and weaker sections of society. The Krishi Vigyan Kendra is an institutional project of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to demmonstrate the application of science and technology input of agricultural research and education on the farmer’s field and in the rural area with the help of multidisciplinary team of scientists. It is therefore, also called as a front line demonstration, transfer of technology of extension system in the country.
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Durgapur (Badnera), working in the district Amravati for the upliftment of socio-economic status of farmers, rural youths and school dropouts by conducting various short duration as wel as long duration training courses. KVK has introduced various low cost technology in the field of agriculture to raise iincome of farming by conducting various programmes on farm testing and other demonstrations on the farmers field. KVK has been awarded by Govt. of Maharahstra for rendering its best services to the farmers of the district from various line departments. Also this centre has been nominated as a technical training cntre by various lone departments to brush up their extension functionaries technical knowhow.
Recently KVK received Best KVK award (Zonal) 2011 for the year 2010-11 by Hob’ble Agril. Minister Shri. Charadchandraji Pawar, Govt. of India at 7th National Conference of KVKs.
